On 1 July, the LIFE Maronesa project had the opportunity to receive a visit from the international group Culinary Backstreets, which specialises in developing itineraries and tourist trips to the best gastronomic destinations.
After a picnic-style lunch served by chefs Rita and João from Forno de Jales, partners of the project and the CLIMA+ label, the delegation visited farmer Tommy Ferreira and the Casal da Bouça farm, creating a moment to share experiences and curiosities about the work of the Alvão cattle farmers and the more modern approach of our extensive model.
The Shepherds’ School was also discussed, as well as the importance of empowering breeders and shepherds, and the governance of rural communities, especially in the community and marginal mountain territories of northern Portugal.
