LIVE: Mesa Redonda: Comunicação no Setor Agropecuário (07/11/2024) ZOOTEC’24
Cattle breeder Avelino Rego and projector manager Henrique Mira Godinho took part in the round table: Communication in the Agricultural Sector. The debate was moderated by Paulo Gomes, director of Voz do Campo, an important magazine in the agricultural sector. The members of the LIFE Maronesa project team were joined on the panel by Maria João Bonito, a breeder of serrana goats and arouquesa cows from the municipality of Castro Daire, Graça Mariano from MAPA, Movimento Ambiente e Produção Alimentar, and Rui Almeida from CONSULAI, a consultancy firm for the agricultural, food, forestry, marine and rural development sectors. The topics highlighted in the participants’ speeches were:
- the importance of having informed consumers and voters, with a greater focus on initiatives to raise awareness among young people and children;
- the availability of breeders and shepherds not to be afraid to receive the public on their farms;
- using simple, recognisable language so that consumers can easily understand and relate;
- it doesn’t take much funding to communicate and capture a certain target audience;
- not be afraid to follow trends and develop content on less common communication channels to share technical information.
